Frequently Asked Questions
What happens at the first meeting?
After initial contact either by phone, text, whatsapp or email, a "meet and greet" will be arranged, where I can introduce myself and get to know you and your cat. I will gather all the information I need to look after your cat and provide the best service possible. This will include arranging any additional duties to be done whilst you are away.
When does the key handover take place?
If you are happy to proceed at the end of the "meet and greet", the key can be handed over then. This is included within the free initial meeting. If however, I need to make an additional trip to collect/drop off the key, a fee of £5 will be required.
I have an alarm system. Is this a problem?
No, at the end of the initial meeting, keys and the alarm system will be tested to make sure I can operate them correctly.
Why do you only cater for cats?
I believe this gives the best service for your cat, as there will be no dog hairs or smell of dogs, therefore maximising your cats relaxation and comfort.
When is payment required?
A deposit of 1 days visit will be required to secure a booking. Full payment must be made within 10 days after the final visit. An invoice will be left on the last visit or can be emailed if preferred.
What happens if my cat becomes unwell while I'm away?
Firstly, I will notify you of any concerns regarding the wellbeing of your cat, using the contact details you have provided, eg. mobile phone number, whatsapp or email.Â
I have a qualification in feline first aid, however if it is something more serious or it is something I am unsure of, I will take your cat to your veterinary provider (I carry a spare cat carrier in my car if needed).
And, of course, I will contact you with any updates.
What are your hours of service?
Generally, my hours of service are between 9.00am and 5.00pm, 7 days a week (except Christmas Day and Boxing Day). However, I can leave food timer dishes set for your cat, if they require feeding outside of these hours.
Who provides the food and cat litter?
It is up to the customer to provide the food and cat litter. If you run out while you are away, I can provide more for a fee of £5 and reimbursement for the cost of the items.
Do you administer medication?
Unfortunately, at the moment I cannot give medication to your cat, but I am hoping to be able to do this in the future once I have had the relevant training.
What is your most popular service?
Generally, our once a day visits are the most popular as they are the most affordable. However, if you are going away for longer or your cat likes more attention then I would recommend the twice a day service.
